Abstract Title: Measuring surface tension with capillary waves
Abstract: We developed an apparatus to measure the surface tension of water. This apparatus to produce capillary waves, and we examined the dispersion relationship of these waves to make the measurement. We found the surface tension of water to be 71.5 +/- 3 dynes/cm which is consistent with the literature value of 72.8 dynes/cm.
