Abstract Title: W38: Arduino & MATLAB for teaching theory, experiment, and computation
Abstract: This workshop will teach educators how to connect Arduinos, sensors, MATLAB, and Simulink together to develop physics labs that incorporate theory, experiment, and computation. The workshop will be based around building an instrument to measure the period of a pendulum and infer the acceleration due to Earth's gravity. The instrument is made of easily sourced, low cost materials, and is easily built by hand (without soldering or wood/metalworking).

Attendees should bring a laptop. MATLAB will be provided.
