Abstract Title: Creating a Nitinol Engine To Study the Thermodynamic Cycle
Abstract: We have developed a simple Nitinol Engine allowing studying to visualize and study a complete thermodynamic cycle.  The engine works similarly a piston, where the force vs. piston position can be measured for the complete cycle, allowing comparisons to the work done by the engine and a measurement of the engine efficiency.  This experiment can be used in both an introductory physics laboratory or an advanced laboratory.
